Whale watching is an extraordinary experience that deepens our love for the marine
environment, but it is important to learn some rules to avoid disturbing the animals.
When you sight a cetacean, first reduce your vessel's speed to within 5 knots and turn
off the echo sounder.
Avvicinati lentamente, Approach slowly, moving parallel to their direction, and always stay at least 100 meters
away.
Dolphins may sometimes choose to approach the boat on their own; in that case, maintain a slow and steady speed, avoiding any changes in direction.
Do not shout or make sudden movements.
Do not throw objects or food into the water.
Do not try to touch the animals or swim with them.
Do not extend the observation period beyond 30 minutes.
When the sighting ends, move away slowly, following a steady course . Do not increase speed until you reach a safe distance of at least 350 meters.
During the sighting, try to identify the species using an identification guide.
